Users review: Simply, this is one of the best family films ever made. The fact that someone other than Disney has created a film that seems to blind some scholars (eg Disney film critic Leonard Maltin scholar) in his many and varied charms. By Chitty, in fact, derives from the creator of James Bond books by Ian Fleming, horror of horrors, it was not Hollywood produced by Albert Broccoli, the man behind the successful film series , Bond movies. However, a closer look at the credits reveals the presence of composers that heralded the Sherman Brothers and Irwin Kostal, who could do nothing wrong when they wrote Disney, but somehow made it to his talent when signed by Mr. Broccoli. (Note balls comments for film director in 2007, music from the film is easy to forget.) The apparently happened with Dee Dee Wood choreographers Marc Breaux, th is widely recognized in her work, Mary Poppins, but ignored, at least in Malta for? Maik? Your often develop procedures Chitty. In fact, songs, background music and dance, is not as good or better than anything Disney and often really advance the plot, but in a pinch so stop more conventional. In this case, the song Caractaco Old Bamboo and dance routine, which provides not only instantly memorable tune (and dance), but also opportunities for financial savings from many Chitty scrap. Itself is nothing less than a vast majority of American comic actor Dick Van Dyke wisely avoiding any attempt at an English accent, which many of us would like Poppins was a few years earlier. (On a 1998 Rosie ODonnell show, Modest Mr. Van Dyke acknowledged its limitations, the English accents of the area). Child actors is a real delight, a charming and sincere without being cloying, and the support team is full of wonderful character actors more British than you would expect less of them are Lionel Jeffries (actually six months younger than Van Dyke's father played) and comedy legend Benny Hill rare straight role. And if that is not enough, there is always a scene where James Bond himself against Goldfinger (German actor Gert Fröbe) singing and dancing! Then there is a simply stunning cinematography by Christopher Challis, wonderful costumes and Joan Bridge and Elizabeth Haffenden and fantastic production created by Oscar-winning designer Ken Adam, high ceilings and sloping walls instantly recognized from classics like Goldfinger and Dr.. Strangelove. And unlike Poppins, inexplicably praised holiday Study evident streets of London, this movie is actually happening on the ground - and then some, really showing great adjustments southern England, Francais Germany (including the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle). Maltin and others complained about the special effects of the film, calling them shoddiest ever. What do you say blue screen traveling matte photos, which were optically magical car in front of sky background movie separately-shot. And I agree that some of these features are obvious film students know they have achieved. But then again, look what you miss. The car itself, which undergoes multiple conversions air and sea travel is an amazing mechanical special effects designed and built by John Stear. Stear, of course, won the Oscar for Thunderball winning SFX and lit another small film called "Star Wars." But no matter what he would know about the special effects? Oh, did I mention that the script was co-written by Roal Dahl, which can only be known a thing or two about children's stories. But enough is enough. This movie is really amazing from the first frame to the last delight, all timeless, but critics of Hollywood. |
